The owner of the Segway company was found dead at the bottom of a cliff in England yesterday, one of his firm's trademark two-wheeled scooters near the body. Jimi Heselden, 62 years old, apparently accidentally rode off the cliff. Police say there is no evidence of foul play and are treating the event as a tragic accident. Heselden was a former miner who quit school at 15 and eventually became a millionaire industrialist. One of England's richest people, his estate is valued at around $260 million. The Segway first gained worldwide notice when then-President George Bush the Second tried to ride one and showed himself to be as inept with a Segway as he was with the duties of his office.

The Doobie Brothers are back in the limelight some 40 years after their debut. The group, famous for such hits as "China Grove", "Black Water", and "Long Train Running" is releasing its first album since 2000's "Sibling Rivalry". The rockers include founding guitarist Pat Simmons, founding vocalist Tom Johnson, drummer Michael Hossack, and multi-instrumentalist John McFee, and they were "surprised and amazed" that their new music, which they played at recent concerts, got such great respons... Do you know who Portia de Rossi is? If you're not one of the 199 people who have seen "Arrested Development" on TV, then you're in the majority to who she's a total stranger. Portia knows this, so she opted for a name change to be more recognizable. She took on her wife's name--yes, we said wife--so she's now officially known as Portia Lee James DeGeneres. Yes, THAT DeGeneres. Portia and Ellen started dating in 2004, and they were married in 2008 when same-sex marriages were briefly lega... Continue reading...

Virtually minutes ago (and we were the first radio station to report the news), Lindsay Lohan was led out of a courtroom in handcuffs and back to jail for failing a court mandated drug test. Superior court judge Elden S. Fox took only ten minutes to reach a decision and absolutely refused to hear any bail arguments, adding that the actress will most likely remain in jail until the hearing on October 22. Lohan is headed for the graybar hotel for the third time in three years, and we'll be wa... Continue reading...

Paleontologists are putting together the remains of a newly found ceratopsian, or horned, dinosaur, and this beast took being horny to the max. Every year, TV shows come and go, but it's still pretty rare that a show gets axed after only one showing. This is probably the case for Fox TV's new show "Lone Star". Fox had big hopes for the drama about a man who juggles two lives and women in Texas because of his nebulous activities. To give it more chances of survival, it was shoehorned into the schedule after established show "House". At the end of House, Fox had 11.5 million people tuned in, but they evaporated at 9 PM. By 9:15, o... Continue reading...

New Zealand has the dubious distinction of being a popular place for whale beachings, with its history of such occurances dating back to 1840. Pilot whales are the ones that this happens to most often, and scientists say this is because New Zealand is on the animals' migration route, but truthfully, these same scientists actually don't have any idea why whales beach themselves. Now, for the second time in a month, pilot whales have wound up on the shore at Spirits Bay. An 80 member pod of ... Continue reading...

Hip-hop singer Wyclef Jean has now officially pulled out of the race for president of Haiti. In a statement he released through his publicist, he said that he is dropping out of Haitian politics to promote a new album. This is a subtly concealed admission that the country's electoral council has left him off the ballot as of last month, and although no official reason was revealed, it's pretty well known that Wyclef did not meet residency requirements for elected officials because ever sinc... After watching only the pilot episode of NBC's "The Event", I pretty much think I have the whole thing figured out. It seems that the United States is "detaining" a group of humanoids with tremendous mental powers. These people have ventured here from a parallel existence to try to stop an upcoming disaster (the Event of the title) but have instead been rounded up by the military and are being pressured about explaining their origin, powers, and the exact nature of The Event. There seem to... Continue reading...
