Millions Affected By Torrential Rain

The massive rain in China and Pakistan has caused death and devastation throughout the area.  As of late on August 9, local time, at least 337 people are known dead and over 1,150 are missing in China, where entire villages were swept away and many cities are still chest deep in brackish water and mud from landslides.  The situation is even worse in Pakistan, where, according to United Nations estimates, as much as 13.8 million people have been directly affected by the worst flooding in that ...

Pakistani Airliner Crashes

A Pakistani Airblue plane crashed into a hillside early this morning as it was coming in for a landing, killing all 152 people aboard.  The plane, an AirbusA321, was ending a two-hour flight between Karachi and Islamabad in rainy, foggy weather when the control tower lost contact with it.  Local residents say the plane's flight was erratic before it crashed into a hillside, strewing plane and human body parts all over the area.  Red Crescent rescue workers were able to recover enough body par...
