Country singer Miranda Lambert definitely has something to smile about this morning as it was announced that she was nominated for nine CMA awards, the most ever for a female. Others who were nominated for multiple awards include Lady Antebellum with five, Lambert's new fiance Blake Shelton with four, and the Zac Brown Band, also with four. When overweight bags show up at airports, they get sent to the X-ray machine. This was the case on Monday when a lady's bag at Thailand's Bangkok International Airport weighed more than it should. X-rays revealed what appeared to be a live animal inside, and when the bag was opened, authorities found a baby tiger, about a month old, among several stuffed toy versions of the animal. Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced on August 22 that his country now has an unmanned bomber, which he called an "ambassador of death" for Iran's enemies. The aircraft is named Karrar, or "striker", and has a range of 620 miles. While this is not of itself enough range to reach Israel, the plane can be armed with up to two missiles with a range that can strike most of the Middle East if launched at the right distance. Iran's first nuclear plant will get fuel next week, courtesy of Russia. The fuel will be loaded into the Bushehr Reactor on August 21 in spite of United States protests.
