Grim news from New Orleans as of 9:10 AM Pacific Time today.  A team of researchers from the University of Georgia says they found a coating of oil on the floor of the Gulf of Mexico, at least two inches thick and as far as 80 miles away from the plugged Deep Horizons well.  The latest sample was taken early this morning (Sept. 13) and was covering a number of dead animals such as shrimp and deep sea worms.  Samantha Joye, leader of the research team, says the oil is fresh and is probably from that ill-fated BP well, but more tests will have to be conducted to ascertain the oil's origin.
