The massive rain in China and Pakistan has caused death and devastation throughout the area.  As of late on August 9, local time, at least 337 people are known dead and over 1,150 are missing in China, where entire villages were swept away and many cities are still chest deep in brackish water and mud from landslides.  The situation is even worse in Pakistan, where, according to United Nations estimates, as much as 13.8 million people have been directly affected by the worst flooding in that country's history.  More heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected later this week.
