Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced on August 22 that his country now has an unmanned bomber, which he called an "ambassador of death" for Iran's enemies.  The aircraft is named Karrar, or "striker", and has a range of 620 miles.  While this is not of itself enough range to reach Israel, the plane can be armed with up to two missiles with a range that can strike most of the Middle East if launched at the right distance.  The drone is Iran's first domestically produced such weapon and is part of the country's drive to make its own weapons since the last war with Iraq.  Iran now manufactures its own tanks, personnel carriers, and even a fighter plane.  It also announced several models of attack boats at the same news conference.
