Lost City Found in Egypt

The Egyptian government announced early on August 25 that they have found the remains of an ancient settlement on the grounds of an oasis about 90 miles south of Cairo.  The 3,500 year-old town, Umm el-Mawagir, fortifies the existence of a well-established trade route that originally stretched from the Mediterranean to what is now the Darfur region of Sudan.  Of importance is the discovery of massive bakery facilities in the town, which were probably used to feed an army---literally.  Back in...
